Privacy Policy

UpSkillPros LLC operates upskillpros.com. This page explains what we collect when you visit the site or contact us, why we collect it, who else can see it, and how to get it removed. We've written it in plain language on purpose.

The short version

Who we are

UpSkillPros LLC is a software consultancy based in Springfield, Missouri. For anything in this policy, contact Jon Richards at jon@upskillpros.com or 417 777 0766.

Information you give us

When you submit the consultation form, we collect:

• Your name and email address, both required, so we can identify and reply to you.
• Your phone number, optional, only if you'd rather we call.
• Whatever you write in the message field describing your situation.

That submission is delivered to our email inbox through Web3Forms, a form-delivery service. Web3Forms processes the submission in order to hand it to us. If the delivery service is unavailable, the form falls back to opening your own email application, in which case the message goes directly to us and no third party is involved.

We also receive whatever you choose to tell us if you email, call, or message our Facebook page directly.

Information collected automatically

This site is hosted on Vercel. Like nearly all web hosts, Vercel records standard technical information when a page is served: IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, and the time of the request. This is used for security and reliability, not to build a profile of you.

The site loads typefaces from Google Fonts. Your browser contacts Google's servers to fetch those font files, which means Google receives your IP address as part of that request.

Advertising and the Meta Pixel

We advertise on Facebook and Instagram. When those campaigns are active, this site may run the Meta Pixel, a small piece of code from Meta Platforms that records page views and form submissions so we can tell whether our advertising is working and avoid showing ads to people who've already contacted us.

The Meta Pixel sets cookies and shares the data it collects with Meta, which may associate it with your Facebook or Instagram account if you have one. We use it for measurement and for excluding past leads from future ads. We do not use it to build audiences based on anything sensitive.

You can limit this. Meta offers controls at facebook.com/adpreferences, and most browsers let you block third-party cookies or use a tracking-protection mode. Blocking it doesn't affect your ability to use this site or submit the form.

What we do with it

• To reply to you. This is the main one. If you fill out the form, we contact you about a consultation.
• To prepare for that conversation, so we arrive having thought about the problem you described.
• To keep a record of who we've spoken with and what was discussed.
• To measure our advertising, so we know which ads produce real conversations.
• To keep the site working and protect it from abuse.

What we don't do

• We don't sell your information, and we don't rent or trade it.
• We don't add you to a mailing list because you filled out the consultation form. If we ever start a newsletter, you'll have to ask for it.
• We don't share client work or client data across engagements. Anything you tell us about your operation stays between us.
• We don't run ads on this site or allow third-party advertising networks to track you here.

Who else can see it

We share information only with the services that make the site and our business function:

• Web3Forms, which delivers form submissions to our inbox.
• Vercel, which hosts and serves the site.
• Microsoft, which provides our email through a Microsoft 365 mailbox.
• Meta Platforms, for advertising measurement, as described above.
• Google, for font delivery and for Search Console, which reports how the site appears in search results.

We may also disclose information if we're legally required to, or if it's necessary to protect our rights or someone's safety. We'll tell you if that happens unless we're prohibited from doing so.

How long we keep it

Consultation inquiries stay in our email and records for as long as there's a plausible business relationship, and we review them periodically. Server logs are retained by our host on their own schedule, typically a short window measured in weeks. Advertising data is held by Meta under their retention policies, not ours.

If you ask us to delete your information, we'll remove it from our systems within 30 days and confirm when it's done.

Your choices

• Ask what we have. Email us and we'll tell you what's in our records about you.
• Ask us to delete it. Email us and we'll remove it, subject to any records we're legally required to keep.
• Ask us to correct it. If something's wrong, tell us and we'll fix it.
• Opt out of ad tracking through your browser settings or Meta's ad preferences.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA. We'll honor those requests regardless of whether the law technically applies to us. The address for all of it is jon@upskillpros.com.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, so what you send through the form is encrypted in transit. Our email is protected by multi-factor authentication. No system is perfectly secure, and we won't pretend otherwise, but we don't collect more than we need, which is the most effective protection available.

Children

This site is meant for businesses and the people who run them. It isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and change the effective date at the top. Material changes will be described here rather than quietly swapped in.
